There are a number of “human” medications available at Walgreens and other local pharmacies that have steep discounts using specific discount codes. The prices listed below come from research done with Walgreens prices. You would need to compare the price to other local pharmacies to decide which is the best option for you.

*Most Walgreens locations don’t regularly deal with IV solutions and may tell you that they cannot order it or that you need to go to a specialty pharmacy, but this isn’t true. Tell them the specific NDC for lactated ringers or saline “is available from ABC.” ABC is the name of their supplier. If they check through ABC they’ll see that they can order the fluids.
**It is important to order this specific NDC. Generlac is Lactulose. There is no difference if the bottle says Generlac or Lactulose, except the price. If you don’t order this specific NDC, the bottle will cost at least $5 more
***To have this prescription filled at a human pharmacy it must be written for “Augmentin” as the brand name medication, and allow substitutions for the generic “amox-clav.” If your vet writes the prescription for “Clavamox” as the brand name it cannot be filled at a human pharmacy because Clavamox is a veterinary prescription.
