Inflammatory Bowel Disease in cats is a condition in which the gastrointestinal (GI) tract is chronically irritated and/or inflamed. When this happens the walls of the GI tract thicken and prevent cats from properly digesting and absorbing nutrients from food.
Cats of any age can be affected by IBD, but this disease most commonly occurs in middle aged or older cats.
